The colonists did not want the British to hold searches in their homes without a reasonable cause. So they created the 4th amendment what made it so that you needed a reason for the search or a warrant for the search of the property. But the warrant needs to be specific for were they are searching. Many colonist agreed with them because the British troops would just come in and serch with out a cause for it.

A police officer spotted three man walking around a jewelry store. After introducing himself he pat these men down to discover hidden weapons. When in court the man claimed tho violated there fourth amendment rights but the court sided with the officer saying that there was reasonable suspicion that the men were going to do something. |
